De Pretto Industrie is pleased to announce the award by A2A of an order for the supply of a 8 MW steam turbogenerator to be installed in the Cremona waste-to-energy plant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Currently the plant has two waste-to-energy lines for solid waste, special waste and medical waste driven by two steam turbines: a 2 MW backpressure (TV1) and a 4 MW condensing (TV2). The plant is providing district heating to the Cremona municipality covering approximately 50% of the annual heat needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A2A has launched a project to increase the efficiency and energy recovery and consequently the production of electricity by installing a new turbine (TV3) to replace the TV1 and that has to be capable of operating both in cogeneration (in the winter period) and full condensing (in summer).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The new TV3 turbine will therefore be able to process all the superheated steam produced by the boilers of lines 1 and 2 and feed the district heating network of the city of Cremona through an adjustable low-pressure steam bleed from which it will be possible to extract an higher flow of steam, ideally up to about 70-80% of the full live steam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We are extremely proud of this additional milestone that contributes to further consolidate the strategic collaboration between De Pretto Industrie and A2A group in the turbomachinery space.
